Background
Viola Rust-Sorge has been a lawyer and partner at Schindhelm since 2009.
Between 1996 and 2009, Viola Rust-Sorge ran her own commercial law firm, which operated under the name “Rust, Krahl, Becker & Coll.”. After gaining her licence to practise as a lawyer in 1991, she worked between 1991 and 1996 at the commercial law firm Dr. Schäfer and Partner in Hanover.
Between 1982 and 1987, she studied law in Würzburg and Bonn, focusing on international law, and gained the certificat de la faculté de droit comparée, Strasbourg.
1987 First State Examination in Law, work for the German Chamber of Commerce in Taipei, 1991 Second State Examination in Law.
Viola Rust-Sorge has been a specialist lawyer for intellectual property since 2007.

Viola Rust-Sorge advises German and foreign companies on commercial and labour law, in particular on contract law. As an experienced litigator, she represents companies and private individuals both in judicial disputes before ordinary courts and arbitration courts as well as in the out-of-court settlement of disputes.
Within the framework of her work as a specialist lawyer for intellectual property, Viola Rust-Sorge represents companies and agencies in and out of court on issues of brand law, competition law, copyright law and adjoining areas of law, in particular also in the press and media sector.
She regularly gives talks and publishes articles on topics relating to brand law and competition law.
Viola Rust-Sorge is the Chairwoman of Wirtschaftskreises Hannover e.V. (Hanover Business Community Association), Senator of the Junior Chamber of Commerce (JCI-Association of JCI Senators in Germany e.V.), a member of the information technology working group of the German Bar Association (DAV), the Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht e.V. (GRUR, German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright), the German national committee of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and the Pro Hannover Region e.V. – Förderverein zur Entwicklung der Region Hannover e.V. (development association for the Hanover region).
